On behalf of the Stress and Anxiety Research Society STAR we welcome you to Haifa, Israel for the 41st STAR conference! The conference is an opportunity to present and share findings, ideas and innovations from multidisciplinary perspectives on stress, anxiety and coping.

The STAR is a multidisciplinary, international organization of researchers who share an interest in problems of stress, anxiety and coping. Its members, from more than 35 countries, meet annually to exchange research findings and clinical applications on a wide range of stress and anxiety related phenomena.

The congress theme this year is Coping in a Stressful, Changing World. The theme emphasizes our ability to cope in the face of an ever-changing world and the stressors that occur within different macro-, meso-, and micro-contexts.

The conference is the natural meeting place for researchers and professionals engaged in various scientific inquiries relating to stress, anxiety and coping matters; whether in biological science, medical and health sciences, social sciences, in the humanities or in human services, or the education system. The main track of the conference includes sessions on multidisciplinary aspects of stress, anxiety, and coping and serve as a great opportunity to share research and clinical findings in an international forum.  This is an ideal place where we can meet and learn from each other.

The congress venue will be at the University of Haifa, located in the city of Haifa, in the north of Israel.

We look forward to meeting you in Haifa, July 13-16, 2020

On behalf of the local Organizing Committee and STAR,

Dear members of the STAR and dear registered participants for the upcoming conference in Israel.

In the last month we have been closely following and monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic, in an attempt to prepare for our meeting scheduled for this July in Haifa Israel.

Our hearts are with all of you at this difficult time, we hope you are well, and we will hopefully see you all this summer in Haifa, Israel.

This is a time of uncertainty and concern, and it is hard to plan ahead without knowing what the circumstances will be in July. We are striving to carry out the conference this year, in one way or another, and we are doing everything possible to make that happen.

We have currently extended the date for early registration up until June 1st, in order to give you the needed time to evaluate and consider whether you would like to register. We all hope that by this time it will be easier to make your decisions. In line with this change, we will also extend the deadline for abstract submission up until May 1st.

In the event that the conference is cancelled, conference registration fees will be refunded.

I do hope and look forward to meeting everyone this year. I wish you and your families health and safety in this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Yuval Palgi.
Chair of the 41st International Conference of
the Stress and Anxiety Research Society (STAR).
